Waffles are generally not the most healthy options to eat. You have both sweet and savory waffles, but both are often not low in carbohydrates.

Are you diabetic or would you like to lose some weight? Then I advise you not to eat waffles. They give you a high blood sugar and some extra pounds.

Unless you can make low carb waffles with Almond flour. Then you can eat them both if you are diabetic, or if you want to lose some weight. And let this recipe be a low-carb waffle mix recipe.

The waffles you find in this recipe are not made from whole-wheat flour or normal flour. They are not stuffed with sugars and do not contain unhealthy fats.

That is where most tasty products become unhealthy.

Instead of these products, I use:

  • Almond flour
  • Heavy cream
  • Rapeseed oil
  • Almond flour is low in carbohydrates and high in fiber, so this has little effect on your blood sugar.
  • Heavy cream, in addition to the delicious creamy taste, provides more saturation.
  • And rapeseed oil is a healthy substitute for sunflower oil because it has a better omega-3 / omega-6 ratio.

And by adjusting the above, you suddenly have healthy low-carb waffles, which also taste delicious. You could also make the low-carb wafers with coconut flour if you like coconut. You could replace the heavy cream with cream cheese or mascarpone.

After that, you can choose whether you want to eat them sweet or savory.

If you want to eat waffles without carbs, I recommend making savory waffles. After all, cheese, cold cuts and eggs do not contain carbohydrates. Do you want a sweeter waffle? Then you can make the waffle with a banana.

You can also buy low-carb/keto waffles online if you don't feel like making them yourself. There are low carb waffles of Atkins and they also sell low-carb waffles at Walmart. Whether they are just as tasty as this recipe is questionable.
